Early Career
As I Lay Dying released their debut album “Beneath the Encasing of Ashes” in 2001. It was well-received by critics and showcased the band’s blend of melodic death metal and hardcore punk. The album was produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage. The band’s second album “Frail Words Collapse” was released in 2003 and debuted at No. 139 on the Billboard 200 chart.
