Progressive House & Trance producer/DJ, Audien presents his innovation through music. His flexibility as a creative producer lies in the concept of his broadmindedness and experimental vision. Taking various elements of different genres, he generates exclusive sounds with a rich melodic feel. Born & raised in Mystic, Connecticut, Audien, whose real name is Nathaniel Rathbun, grew up listening to a wide range of music. His parents listened to Jazz & Rock, and he would listen to a diverse range of genres, all of which helped him to become the open-minded and versatile artist he is today. Discovering electronic music through computer games, he and a good friend Griffin felt driven to grasp music production skills. They delved in, and self-taught themselves the program fruity-loops. Audien eventually moved over to Logic. While listening to DJ/Producer Armin Van Buuren’s radio show “the state of trance”, his love for electronic music really began to take shape. Armin & Deadmau5 were two significant inspirations to the young DJ/Producer. As his confidence in his artistry increased, he began to send tracks to producers. The track “rise & shine” gained the attention of producer Ferry Corsten who released it on his label “Flashover Recordings” Since then, Audien has released scores of tracks on various labels such as Astralwerks, Enhanced Music, and Enhanced Progressive. He has also worked for Capitol Records. In 2019 he put out his debut album “Escapism” which displays Audien’s versatility as a producer. The album is a mix of various styles. Playing at some of the biggest festivals in the world, such as Tomorrowland, the artist was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014 and continues to go from strength to strength.
