Axwell was born Axel Christofer Hedfors in 1977 in Vanersborg, Sweden. He began playing drums at age 7 and went on to develop an interest in electronic music when he was around 13 or 14 years old. He started producing his own songs at age 15 and soon after joined a band called Buy Now.
Rise to Fame
Axwell's big break came when he began working with Steve Angello in 2000. Together they created two record labels – Pickadoll and Axtone Records – and released several successful singles.
