Who Is Aynur Aydın?

Aynur Aydın is a Turkish folk musician and singer born in 1972. She has been performing since 1999, and has released several albums. Her music is characterized by her powerful voice and the use of traditional instruments and rhythms. In 2009, she was the first woman to be elected as a member of the Turkish Music Society.

Early Life and Musical Influences

Aynur was born in Tunceli in 1972. She developed an interest in music at a very young age, as her father was also a musician. She was particularly influenced by traditional Kurdish music and by the works of Ahmet Kaya, Selda Bağcan, and İbrahim Tatlıses. She studied music theory and singing technique at the Ankara State Conservatory.
