The original line-up consisted of Peter Murphy (vocals & guitar), Daniel Ash (guitar & saxophone), Kevin Haskins (drums) and David J (bass). Their sound was heavily influenced by the likes of David Bowie, Roxy Music and Kraftwerk. With their dark and brooding sound, Bauhaus helped shape the gothic rock genre of music.
