Big Tymers
Big Tymers is an American hip hop duo from New Orleans, Louisiana. The group originally consisted of Cash Money Records co-founders Birdman and Mannie Fresh. Big Tymers debuted in 1997 with the album How You Luv That?, released on Cash Money Records. The group achieved commercial success with their third album I Got That Work in 2000. Big Tymers scored a hit with the single “#1 Stunna” featuring Baby and Juvenile. The song was big in the South and peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Career
The duo's fourth album Hood Rich was released in 2002 and featured the hit single “Still Fly”. It was their most successful album and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. After releasing two more albums (Big Money Heavyweight and 5 * Stunna), the two decided to go their separate ways in 2005. Birdman continued his career with his record label Cash Money Records while Mannie Fresh turned to producing for various hip hop artists such as Lil Wayne and Drake.
Legacy

They revolutionized the sound of Southern rap and helped pave the way for Cash Money Records to become one of the biggest labels in hip hop music. The group is credited with popularizing the “bling bling” style of rap which was often featured in their music videos. Their influence can still be heard today in many other Southern rap acts.
