Who is Bilal Sghir?
Bilal Sghir is a Moroccan singer, songwriter and producer who has been part of the R&B and pop music scene since the 1990s. He is best known for his hit singles such as “Zahri Winta Yetfakarni” and “Ma Neswache Chhal”. Since his debut, he has released several albums which have become popular in Morocco and other parts of the world.
Early Life
Bilal Sghir was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1975. He was raised in a musical family with his father being a drummer and his brother playing guitar. As a child, he was inspired by musicians such as Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and Jean-Michel Jarre. He began to write songs and perform at local events from an early age.
Career
In 1997, Bilal Sghir released his first single “Zahri Winta Yetfakarni” which quickly became a hit in Morocco. He then released his debut album “Mani Mani” in 2000 which featured several hit singles such as “Ma Neswache Chhal”, “Khalini Nrou9” and “Tannou Touha”. The album was a huge success and he went on to release several more albums over the years including “Ajmal Essouk” (2006), “Rani Khelitini” (2009) and “Ki Cheftini Nedmana” (2013).
Collaborations
Throughout his career, Bilal Sghir has collaborated with many other artists including Cheb Faycel Sghir, Cheb Hichem Smati and Cheba Zahouania. He has also written songs for other Moroccan singers such as Zina Daoudia, Amel Bent and Abdelaziz Ahouzar. His music has been featured on several TV shows such as Noujoum Ellil and Al Maghrib Al Aan.
