Who Is Bun B?
Bun B is an American hip-hop artist and one half of the legendary duo UGK (Underground Kingz). He was born Bernard Freeman on March 19, 1973, in Port Arthur, Texas. Growing up in the South gave him a unique perspective on hip-hop culture, as he was exposed to a variety of musical styles.
Early Career
In 1992, Bun B and his partner Pimp C founded UGK. The duo released their first album Too Hard to Swallow in 1992 which featured the hit single “Pocket Full of Stones.” Their next album Super Tight… was released in 1994 and was highly praised by critics. The group went on to release several more albums over the next decade, including their classic Ridin’ Dirty in 1996.
Solo Career
In 2005, Bun B released his debut solo album Trill. The album was a huge success, debuting at #6 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was certified Gold by the RIAA and featured guest appearances from JAY-Z and Lil Wayne. His second album II Trill was released in 2008 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It featured guest appearances from artists such as T.I., Drake, and Outkast.

Bun B went on to release two more solo albums: Trill OG in 2010 and Trill O.G.: The Epilogue in 2013. He has also collaborated with several other artists including Talib Kweli and Big K.R.I.T..
