Calogero is a French singer-songwriter born Calogero Joseph Salvatore Maurici on June 30th 1975 in Échirolles, Isère, France. He shot to fame in 1999 with the release of his debut album Au milieu des autres. Since then, he has released eight studio albums and collaborated with some of France's biggest stars including Passi, Julien Doré, Soprano and Amel Bent.
Early Life and Music Career
As a child, Calogero was passionate about both music and sports. He began to play the piano at age six and studied music throughout his childhood. At 19, he formed his first band Les Charts. After the group disbanded in 1998, Calogero started his solo career.
Breakthrough Success
In 1999, Calogero released his debut album Au milieu des autres. The album was an instant success and included the hit single “Yalla”. Two years later, he released his second album Calogero which featured popular singles such as “En apesanteur” and “Si seulement je pouvais lui manquer”. His third album 3 (2003) was even more successful than its predecessors and solidified Calogero's place in the French music scene.
Later Albums
Calogero's subsequent albums have all been met with critical acclaim and commercial success. Livre (2005) was certified double platinum in France while Pomme C (2008) was certified triple platinum. His seventh album Les Feux d'artifice (2013) debuted at number one on the French Albums chart while his most recent album Liberté chérie (2017) was certified gold.

Calogero has been married to Julie since 2002. They have two sons together named Jules and Oscar. He is currently working on his latest project which is scheduled for release in 2020.
