Biography

César Mc is a Mexican-American musician, composer, and songwriter. Born in Mexico City in 1983, he moved to the United States when he was just two years old. As a child, he was exposed to the sounds of traditional Mexican music, as well as the hip-hop sounds of the 80s and early 90s. At the age of 15, he started playing guitar and soon after began writing his own songs. After high school, he moved back to Mexico City where he joined a rock band called “Los Perdidos”. He then went on to form his own band, “La Cumbia del Fuego”, which quickly gained popularity in both Mexico and the United States. Throughout his career, César has collaborated with many talented musicians such as Chico Trujillo and Molotov. His music is a blend of traditional Mexican cumbia with modern hip-hop and rock influences. His lyrics often reference current topics such as social injustice and immigration issues. In 2015, César released his debut album “Chuchumbe” which was met with critical acclaim. The album featured singles such as “Ni un Paso Atrás” and “Vida de Lucha” which were praised by critics for their thoughtful lyrics and powerful melodies. Since then, he has released several more albums and singles including “Rompiendo el Silencio” (2018) and “El Valor de la Verdad” (2020). César’s music has been described as “a perfect combination of traditional Mexican cumbia and modern hip-hop sounds”. His work has helped to push forward the genre of Latin American urban music and has inspired many young musicians to follow in his footsteps.
