City Morgue Biography

City Morgue is an American hip-hop duo hailing from Staten Island, New York. The two members of the duo are Sosa Geek and ZillaKami. They have quickly become well-known in the underground rap scene due to their unique sound and dark lyricism. Their blend of horrorcore and trap music has made them stand out amongst their peers.

Early Life and Career

Sosa Geek and ZillaKami first met in 2016 in their hometown of Staten Island. They quickly bonded over their shared love for rap music and began making music together soon after. Initially, they made music under various aliases such as “Sinister Mob” and “Ghost Gang” before eventually settling on the name “City Morgue” in 2017.

Breakthrough

Their breakthrough came in 2018 when they released their debut single “City Morgue Anthem” which quickly became an underground hit. This was followed by their debut EP ‘Death Certificate’ which was released in 2019 to critical acclaim. Since then, they have released numerous singles and been featured on tracks with other prominent rappers such as Lil Uzi Vert, UnoTheActivist, and Gravez.

Influences

The duo has cited a variety of influences ranging from classic horrorcore acts like Insane Clown Posse to modern trap music artists like Future and Migos. They have also credited their hometown of Staten Island as a major influence on their music.

Discography

City Morgue has released three EPs to date: 'Death Certificate' (2019), 'Slasheando 2' (2020), and 'SOSA Dreamz' (2020). They have also released numerous singles as well as collaborations with other artists.
