C-Kan is a Mexican rapper-singer whose music narrates tales of life in the barrios, spoken words of love, and touching a political line on the issues that affect Mexican citizens. The rapper has hope for his country and is seen as an inspiring figure for many young. Early Days Real name, José Luis Maldonado Ramos, he was born in Guadalajara Mexico. Losing his father at the age of twelve was difficult for the youngster. Life in the barrios was tough, and music became his release. Inspired by Mexican music, he also became enthralled by the sounds of American & Spanish rap music. At the age of 17, he began rapping and used it as a tool to express life’s trials & tribulations. Career In 2006, his first mixtape, “Get Money,” was a joint venture with his crew. His 2007 solo mixtape “Déjenme Afinar Los Gallos” was swiftly followed, which gained popularity with his followers. With each new single & mixtape released, C-Kan was not afraid to speak out and voice his opinions on issues that affected his country. Mastered Trax, a Mexican indie Label, signed the rapper in 2012. He released his debut album, “Voy por el sueño de Muchos,” which gained much support nationally from the youth. In 2016, he composed the song “compadres” for the soundtrack of the same name.
