Corey Hart was born in 1962 to parents who were both involved in the entertainment industry. His father, Robert Hart was an opera singer, while his mother, Mina, was a dance teacher. In 1983, Hart released his first single, ""Singles at Night"", which quickly became a hit in Canada. The single eventually climbed up the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States and reached number 7 on the chart. It was followed by his debut album, First Offense, which also became a major success. The album spawned several other hits including ""It Ain't Enough"", ""Boy in the Box"", and ""Never Surrender"".
