Crossfade is an American alternative rock band from Columbia, South Carolina. The band was formed in 1999 by Ed Sloan (vocals and guitar), Les Hall (guitar and vocals), and Mitch James (drums). The trio soon built up a fan base playing shows in the Southeast before signing with Elektra Records in 2002.
Successful Debut Album
The band’s debut album, “Crossfade”, was released in 2004 and reached #17 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also spawned the hit single “Cold” which peaked at #2 on the Mainstream Rock chart and earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance.
Second Album and Later Projects
Crossfade followed up their success with their second album “Falling Away” in 2006. Despite having several successful singles, the album failed to match the success of their debut. The band went on hiatus in 2007, but reunited in 2014 and released their third album “We All Bleed” in 2011.
