His parents were Jewish immigrants from Poland and Ukraine who owned a small printing business. His father was an ardent believer in hard work and discipline and this greatly influenced Danzig’s work ethic.
Career
In 1977, Danzig formed a punk rock band called Misfits. The band released several albums and gained a cult following in the punk rock scene. In 1983, he left Misfits and formed a new band called Samhain. The band released two albums before Danzig decided to form his own self-titled project. In 1987 he released Danzig’s debut album which was a huge success and spawned several hit singles such as “Mother” and “Twist of Cain”. Since then he has released nine more albums with his latest album being released in 2019.
