Dima Bilan is a Russian singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest twice in 2006 and 2008 and being one of the most successful music artists in Russia. Born Vladimir Igorevich Prudsky in Karachay-Cherkessia, he began his career as a contestant on the television show Star Factory in 2002. In 2006, Dima Bilan won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Never Let You Go. He was the first Russian to win the competition in sixteen years.
