Who is ELMAN?

Early Life and Career

ELMAN was born Emanuel Schmerl in Berlin, Germany in 1988. He grew up listening to a variety of music genres including soul, jazz, funk, Afrobeat and hip-hop. At the age of 14 he began writing his own songs and playing the piano. By his late teens he was already performing in local venues around Berlin.

Breakthrough Success

ELMAN’s breakthrough success came in 2012 when he released his debut album “The Way We Are”. The album featured a mix of soulful R&B grooves and funk-infused melodies. It was met with critical acclaim from critics and fans alike. The single “On My Way” was particularly successful, reaching number one on the German charts.

Collaborations

In 2014 ELMAN collaborated with MAYA on the single “Lonely Nights”. The song was a huge hit in Europe, reaching number two on the German charts. He has since gone on to collaborate with KARO and Sigma on a number of tracks.

Recent Projects

In 2018 ELMAN released his second studio album “The New Chapter”. The album featured a mix of uptempo dancefloor bangers as well as slower, more soulful tracks. It was met with positive reviews from critics and fans alike. He is currently working on new music for 2019.
