Brian Eno was born on 15 May 1948 in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England. He was a student of Ipswich Art School and Winchester School of Art. He became interested in music through experimenting with tape recorders as a child. As a teenager, he played in several local bands as a keyboardist and bassist. In 1968, he joined Roxy Music as a synthesizer player. He left the band in 1973 and pursued a solo career.
Solo Success
Eno released his first solo album, Here Come the Warm Jets, in 1974. The album was well-received by critics and featured the singles ""Baby's on Fire"" and ""Blank Frank"". His success continued with 1975's Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) and 1977's Before and After Science.
