Eva Simons was born on April 27, 1983 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She began singing at the age of six, performing at local festivals and competitions. As a child she listened to Motown and Soul music, which heavily influenced her musical style.

Career

Simons started writing music at the age of 13 and was signed to an independent record label at the age of 15. She released her first single, “Silly Boy” in 2004 which was an immediate hit, reaching number one in the Netherlands. The single was then re-released by EMI Music in 2008 and became a hit all over Europe.
