Pagny began his career as a backing singer for other French artists such as Michel Polnareff and Francoise Hardy. In 1982, he released his first self-titled album which featured the hit single “N’importe quoi”. This was followed by the 1984 album “Réaliste” which won him critical acclaim and was certified gold.
In the 1990s, he had several chart-topping singles such as “Savoir Aimer” and “Rester Femme”. He also collaborated with other artists such as Céline Dion, Natacha Atlas, Calogero and Youssou N'Dour.
