The group was composed of five members: Sean Conlon, Scott Robinson, Ritchie Neville, Abz Love, and Jason 'J' Brown. History
5ive was formed in 1997 by music manager Chris Herbert after auditions were held across the UK and Ireland. The group was signed to RCA Records and released their debut single “Slam Dunk (Da Funk)” in 1998. It reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart, becoming their first top 10 single.
Success
5ive achieved success quickly and went on to have 18 consecutive top 10 singles in the UK between 1998 and 2001. They released two studio albums during this time: 5ive (1998) and Invincible (2000). In 2001 they released the single “Let’s Dance” which became their only number 1 single in the UK. The group split up in 2001, citing musical differences.

5ive have had a lasting impact on British pop culture. They were one of the most successful boy bands of their era with over 15 million record sales worldwide. They also had success in Australia and New Zealand with their singles reaching number 1 on both countries' charts.
