Biography of Beartooth
Beartooth is an American hardcore musician, songwriter and producer from Columbus, Ohio. He is best known for his work with bands such as Attack Attack! and The Word Alive. He was the lead vocalist and guitarist at Attack Attack! until their break-up in 2013. Since then he has released four albums under the Beartooth banner. His latest release titled Aggressive was released in 2016.
Early Life
Beartooth was born Caleb Michael Shomo in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in a musical family and started playing guitar at the age of nine. He took lessons from his father who was a guitarist himself. By the age of twelve he had already written several songs and started performing in local clubs.
Career
In 2008, Beartooth formed the band Attack Attack! along with Andrew Whiting and Nick White. The band released their debut album Someday Came Suddenly in 2008 which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Their follow-up album This Means War was released in 2009 and reached number 2 on the same chart. In 2012, Beartooth left the band to pursue a solo career under the name Beartooth.
Solo Career
In 2014, Beartooth released his debut solo album Disgusting which reached number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. His follow-up album Aggressive was released two years later and peaked at number 4 on the same chart. In 2018, he released Disease which reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart making it his highest charting album to date.
Personal Life
Beartooth is currently married to his wife Emily Shomo and they have one daughter together named Scarlett. He has been vocal about his struggles with mental health issues and is an advocate for mental health awareness.
