Early Life

Brian McKnight was born on June 5, 1969 in Buffalo, New York. His mother was a jazz singer, and his father was a pastor. From an early age he was exposed to music and quickly developed a passion for it. He started playing the piano at the age of eight and by the time he was 16 he had already written his first song.

Career

Brian McKnight's career began in 1992 when he released his self-titled debut album. The album spawned several hit singles including “One Last Cry” and “Anytime”. He followed this up with 1995's I Remember You which featured the hit single “Crazy Love”. In 1997 he released Anytime which featured the hits “The Way Love Goes” and “On The Down Low”. Over the next few years he released several more albums including Superhero (2002), U Turn (2003), Gemini (2005), Ten (2006), and Just Me (2011).

Throughout his career Brian McKnight has collaborated with a variety of artists. He has worked with Boyz II Men on the hits “4 Seasons of Loneliness” and “A Song for Mama”.
