Who Is Carolina Deslandes?

Carolina Deslandes is a Portugese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She started her career in 2009 as the lead vocalist of the pop-rock band Bela Flor. In 2011, she left the group and devoted herself to her solo career, releasing her first single “A Vida Toda” in 2012. Carolina has since released two studio albums and an EP, garnering over 350 million streams on digital platforms.

Early Life

Carolina Deslandes was born in Lisbon in 1993 and started writing music at the age of 15. She studied classical guitar and composition at the National Conservatory of Lisbon and took part in several musical projects.

Music Career

In 2009, Carolina joined the pop-rock band Bela Flor as the lead vocalist. The group released one studio album before disbanding in 2011. Following the group's split, Carolina decided to focus on her solo career and released her debut single “A Vida Toda” in 2012. In 2014, Carolina released her debut album “Corpo e Alma”, which featured collaborations with well-known Portuguese artists like Diogo Piçarra, Sam The Kid, C4 Pedro and others. The album reached number one on the Portuguese charts and was certified gold for selling over 10,000 copies.

Collaborations

Apart from collaborations with other Portuguese artists, Carolina has also collaborated with Spanish artist Carlos Sadness on the song “Te Extraño”. She has also collaborated with popular Brazilian musicians such as Roberto Carlos and Anitta on the song “Vai Levando”.

Awards

Throughout her career, Carolina has been nominated for several awards including MTV Europe Music Awards Best Portuguese Act, Billboard Latin Music Awards Best New Artist and Prémio Autores Best Portuguese Album. She has also won Best Album at the 2019 MTV Millennial Awards.

Carolina has released two studio albums: “Corpo e Alma” (2014) and “Espelho” (2018). She has also released one EP: “Todos os Cantos” (2016).}
