Early Life & Career
Des'ree's love of music was evident from an early age; she began singing at the age of six and wrote her first song at the age of eleven. She started her career as a session singer and backing vocalist for acts including The Brand New Heavies and Sade. After signing to Sony Music in 1994, Des'ree released her debut album Mind Adventures, which featured the hit single ‘Feel So High’. This was followed by her breakthrough second album I Ain't Movin' (1994), which contained her biggest hit ‘You Gotta Be’.
