Ebru Yaşar is a Turkish singer, songwriter and musician. She has been active in the music industry since 1996 and has released numerous chart-topping singles. Her music has been praised for its unique sound as well as its lyrics which often tackle social issues. She has collaborated with many different artists from around the world to create her unique sound. In addition to her solo career, she also performs with her band, the Ebru Yaşar Group. She has performed at many festivals and concerts throughout her career, including the Istanbul Jazz Festival and the Akbank Jazz Festival.

Early Life & Career

Ebru Yaşar was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1977. She began singing as a child and was part of many choirs as well as performing in musicals. She attended the Istanbul Technical University where she studied music and began performing professionally. After graduating, she moved to London where she continued to hone her craft and expand her repertoire. In 1996 she released her debut album, Güneşin İzinde which was an instant success. This was followed by several more albums throughout her career including Söyle Bana, Müzik Ekspresi, and Ağıt. In addition to her albums, she has also released numerous singles which have charted in both Turkey and abroad.

Ebru Yaşar’s music is often described as being a mix of traditional Turkish folk and pop music combined with jazz and soul influences.
