Who Is El Chombo?

El Chombo is the stage name of Luis Guillermo Villar, a Panamanian music producer and DJ. He is best known for creating the popular song “Chacarron Macarron” which has been featured in multiple films, TV shows, and video games. El Chombo has worked with many other reggaeton and Latin music producers, including Luny Tunes, DJ Blass, and Wisin & Yandel. He has also released multiple albums throughout his career.

Career Beginnings

El Chombo's career began in the mid-1990s when he started producing mixtapes of Latin music. He gained recognition in the Latin music industry after producing several successful singles. In 2004, he released his debut album “The Best of El Chombo” which featured the hit single “Chacarron Macarron”. The song quickly gained popularity in Latin America and was eventually featured in multiple films, TV shows, and video games.

Breakthrough Success

Following the success of “Chacarron Macarron”, El Chombo released a number of other successful singles including “Kulikitaka”, “Dame Tu Cosita”, and “La Cumbia del Río”. His second album “The Return of El Chombo” was released in 2007 and featured additional popular songs such as “Mamá No Me Quiere” and “La La La La La”. Throughout his career, El Chombo has collaborated with many reggaeton and Latin music producers such as Luny Tunes, DJ Blass, Wisin & Yandel, and Don Omar.

Recent Projects

In recent years, El Chombo has continued to release new music including the single “Vaiven Remix” in 2019. He has also collaborated with multiple artists on their own projects including J Balvin's hit single “Mi Gente” and Pitbull's single “Dame Tu Cosita”. El Chombo continues to tour throughout Latin America and Europe and remains an influential figure in the Latin music industry.
