Who is Erigga?

Erigga, real name Erhiga Agarivbie, is an award-winning Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter. He was born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria in 1986 and started his rap career in 2007. Since then he has released several singles, mixtapes and albums. He is known for his unique style of rap that combines hip hop beats with the melodic sounds of Afrobeat.

Career

In 2008 Erigga released his debut single 'Ghetto Soldier'. The single gained lots of airplay on radio stations across Nigeria as well as being featured on MTV Base Africa. His follow up single ‘Paper Boi’ was released in 2009 and also became a hit in Nigeria. In 2011 he released his debut album ‘The Erigma’ which featured some of the biggest names in Nigerian music such as M.I Abaga, Vector and D’banj. The album was well received and earned him multiple awards including Best Rap Album at the Headies Awards. Over the years Erigga has collaborated with some of the biggest names in African music including AY.com, Yungzee, Victor AD and Tobisneh. He has also released several mixtapes such as ‘The Erigma 2’ (2014) and ‘A Trip to the South’ (2016).
