Foghat - A British Classic Rock Band

Foghat is a British classic rock band formed in 1971. The original members were Dave Peverett (guitar/vocals), Roger Earl (drums), Tony Stevens (bass guitar), and Rod Price (guitar). They have released eight studio albums over the years and are best known for their hard rock and blues-rock sound.

History

Foghat's first album was released in 1972 and was titled 'Foghat'. It included their hit single 'I Just Want to Make Love to You', which has since become one of their signature songs. Following its success, the band released several more albums over the next decade. In 1977, they released their fourth album 'Fool for the City', which reached number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned the hit single 'Slow Ride'. The single reached number 14 in the US and number 25 in the UK.

Members

Over the years, Foghat has had a variety of members. After Rod Price left the band in 1984, he was replaced by Craig MacGregor. In 1988, Dave Peverett left the band and was replaced by Nick Jameson. In 1989, Tony Stevens left and was replaced by Robbie Hankins. The current lineup consists of Roger Earl on drums, Craig MacGregor on bass guitar, Robbie Hankins on guitar/vocals, and Nick Jameson on lead vocals/rhythm guitar.

Foghat has released eight studio albums along with four live albums, two compilation albums, three video albums, 28 singles, and 21 music videos. Their most recent studio album is 'Under the Influence', which was released in 2017.
