Gareth Emery is a British EDM music producer, DJ, and songwriter. He is best known for his chart-topping singles and remixes of known tracks. Since 2004, he has released four studio albums, three compilation albums, 34 singles and 41 music videos. His debut album Northern Lights (2010) reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart in 2010. His second album Drive (2014) also charted in the UK Albums Chart at No. 25.
Early life
Gareth Emery was born in Southampton, England on July 18th 1979. He studied at the University of Manchester where he completed a degree in politics and modern history. After college he moved to London to pursue a career in music production.
Music career
In 2004, Emery released his debut single “GTR” which debuted at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart. He then released several singles under his own name as well as various other aliases such as Cupa and GTR. In 2009 he released his first studio album Northern Lights which was a commercial success reaching No. 1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart. The album featured the singles “Sanctuary” and “Exposure” which were both major hits. His second album Drive was released in 2014 and reached No. 25 on the UK Albums Chart. It featured the singles “Lights & Thunder” and “U” which were both successful on the dance charts.
