Ghostface Killah is an American rapper, songwriter, and actor. He is a prominent member of the Wu-Tang Clan, a hip hop group formed in the 1990s in New York City. He has released 10 studio albums and has been featured on numerous songs by other artists.
Early Life
Ghostface Killah (real name Dennis Coles) was born in Staten Island, New York on May 9th, 1970. He was raised in a single-parent household with his mother and siblings. He grew up listening to soul music and later fell in love with hip hop. He began rapping at a young age and joined forces with his friends to form the Wu-Tang Clan.
Career
In 1993, the Wu-Tang Clan released their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The album was a success and it gained them a lot of recognition in the hip hop world. Ghostface Killah was one of the most prominent members of the group as he had a unique flow and delivery. He released his solo debut album Ironman in 1996 which was met with positive reviews from critics. This led to him releasing more solo albums such as Supreme Clientele (2000), Fishscale (2006), The Big Doe Rehab (2007), Apollo Kids (2010), and 36 Seasons (2014). He has also collaborated with other artists such as Raekwon, Method Man, GZA, Cappadonna, and Inspectah Deck.
Acting Career
In addition to his rap career, Ghostface Killah has also ventured into acting. He has appeared in films such as Belly (1998), High School High (1996), and The Wackness (2008). He has also starred in television shows such as The Wire (2002) and Hawaii Five-0 (2011).
