Biography of Giusy Ferreri

Giusy Ferreri is an Italian pop singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born Gaetana Ferreri in Palermo, Italy on April 17, 1979, she rose to fame in 2008 with her hit song, Non ti scordar mai di me (Never Forget You). Ferreri has released four studio albums and over thirty singles throughout her career. She has also collaborated with artists such as Calcutta and Morgan.

Ferreri began her musical career at the age of 18 when she moved to Milan to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. She made her official debut in 2006 with the release of her debut single “Il Party”. The single was included on her debut album, Gaetana, released in 2007. The album immediately became a success in Italy and peaked at number two on the Italian Albums Chart. It was later certified Platinum by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry.

In 2008, Ferreri released her second album, Novembre. The album featured the hit single “Non ti scordar mai di me” which quickly became a pop anthem in Italy. The single was eventually certified Platinum for sales over 60,000 copies in Italy. In 2009 she released the single “La Prima Volta” which peaked at #1 on the Italian Singles Chart and would later be certified Diamond for sales over 500,000 copies.

In 2010, Ferreri released her third studio album Il Mio Universo which peaked at number one on the Italian Albums Chart and was later certified Platinum. The album featured two number one hits: “Il Mio Universo” and “Un Cuore Malato”. Her fourth studio album, Girotondo, was released in 2015 and featured the singles “Il Mio Amore Unico” and “Ti Porto a Cena con Me”. Girotondo peaked at number one on the Italian Albums Chart and was certified Gold.

Ferreri has won numerous awards throughout her career including MTV Italian Music Awards for Best Artist (2006), Best Song (2009), Best Live Act (2010), and Best Female Artist (2010). In 2012 she received an award for Best International Artist at the Los Angeles Music Awards. She has also been nominated for various awards such as World Music Awards, TMF Awards, and Wind Music Awards.
