Early Life and Career Beginnings

John David Anderson was born in Apopka, Florida on December 13, 1954. He began his musical career at the age of 17 when he formed his own band and began performing at local clubs. He soon became a popular act in the area and began touring across the United States.

Rise to Fame

In 1977, Anderson signed with Warner Bros Records and released his self-titled debut album. It spawned the hit single “I’ve Got a Feelin’ (Somebody’s Been Stealin’)” which reached number five on the Billboard Country Singles chart. The album was certified gold by the RIAA.

Successful Solo Career

Anderson continued to release successful albums throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. His most successful albums include “Wild & Blue” (1982), “Eye of a Hurricane” (1984), and “Solid Ground” (1992). His singles from these albums also reached high positions on the charts including “Swingin'”, which reached number one on the Billboard Country Singles chart in 1983.

Recent Projects

In recent years, Anderson has continued to tour extensively throughout the United States and Europe as well as perform at festivals such as CMA Fest, Stagecoach Festival, and Farm Aid. He released his most recent album in 2016 titled “Goldmine” which was recorded in Nashville with some of the city’s top session musicians. The album featured some of Anderson’s most popular songs such as “Seminole Wind” and “Straight Tequila Night”.
