Kalimba is a Mexican singer-songwriter born in Mexico City on December 27th, 1976. His real name is Andrés Cazares and he is known for the fusion of different musical genres in his work. He began his musical career singing in various choirs, which led him to become part of the group Garibaldi in 1995. It was during this time that he achieved commercial success and great recognition among Mexicans. In 2000 he started his solo career as Kalimba, releasing his first album as a solo artist. He has since released multiple albums and singles that have reached high positions on the Billboard Latin charts.
