Who Is Kaskade?
Kaskade is an American DJ, producer, and remixer from Northbrook, Illinois. His real name is Ryan Raddon and he was born in 1971. He has been making waves in the EDM scene since the early 2000s and has released eight studio albums, four compilation albums, and numerous singles and EPs. He is a five-time Grammy nominated artist and has sold over 10 million albums worldwide.
Early Career
Kaskade began producing music in the mid-90s after being inspired by the emerging Chicago house sound. He released his first full-length album It's You, It's Me in 2003 on Om Records. The album included his breakthrough hit “Steppin' Out” which quickly gained traction on college radio stations throughout the US. In 2006, he released his second album Love Mysterious which featured the singles “Be Still” and “Sorry”. His third album Strobelite Seduction was released in 2008 to critical acclaim and featured collaborations with Deadmau5 and Late Night Alumni.
Recent Work
Since 2010, Kaskade has released six studio albums including Fire & Ice (2012), Automatic (2015), Redux EP 001 (2015), Redux EP002 (2016), Redux 003 (2017) and his most recent album entitled Atmosphere (2013). He has collaborated with a variety of artists including Haley, Project 46, Late Night Alumni, and Moguai. His single “Atmosphere” was certified gold in 2013 and was one of his most successful singles to date.
Awards & Recognition
In 2011, Kaskade won Best American DJ at the International Dance Music Awards as well as Best Breakthrough Artist/Group at the IDMA's. He was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his single “Atmosphere” in 2014. In 2015, he was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
