Who is KEEN'V?
KEEN'V is the stage name of Kévin Théophile-Catherine, a French pop singer, songwriter and rapper. Born in 1981 in Brittany, France, he has been performing since the mid 2000s. He is best known for his hit single “Ça m’énerve” as well as his collaborative work with fellow French artists Olivia Ruiz, Leslie, Nâdiya and Sonia Lacen.
Early Life
At the age of 9, KEEN'V started to show interest in music and began playing the piano. He was then accepted into the Conservatoire de Rennes at 13 and studied classical music for several years. However, he eventually decided to pursue a career in pop music and developed his own unique style of singing and rapping.
Career
In 2004, KEEN'V released his debut album “Marée haute”. The album was a success and spawned several hit singles such as “Ça m’énerve” which reached #1 on the French Singles Chart. He followed up with two more albums before finally releasing his fourth album “A l'infini” in 2013 which also topped the charts.
Recent Work
In 2016, KEEN'V released his fifth album “Intemporel” which further cemented his place in the French music scene. Since then he has continued to release new music as well as collaborate with other artists. In 2018 he released a new single entitled “Rock de tes rêves” which peaked at #11 on the French Singles Chart.
Awards & Achievements
KEEN'V has won numerous awards throughout his career including “Best Male Artist” at the NRJ Music Awards in 2012 as well as “Best Album of the Year” at the Victoires de la Musique in 2014. He has also been nominated for several other awards including the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2015.
Personal Life
KEEN'V currently resides in Paris with his wife and their two children. In addition to music, he is an avid supporter of animal rights and is an active member of PETA France.
