Who is Kurdo?

Kurdo Al-Saheli (born May 18, 1985) is a German rapper, singer and songwriter from Berlin, Germany. He has been active since 2005 and has released multiple studio albums and singles that have topped the charts. His music style is mainly a mixture of hip hop and pop.

Early Life

Kurdo was born in Berlin, Germany to parents of Iraqi origin. He grew up in Berlin's Neukölln district. As a child, he was interested in rap music and was influenced by the hip hop culture of the United States. Kurdo started his career in 2005 with the release of his first single ""Dein Kurdo"".

Career

In 2008, Kurdo released his first full-length album ""Gangsta Rap Kings"", which included the hit single ""Nike Kappe umgekehrt"". The album peaked at number eight on the German Albums Chart. Since then, he has released several successful albums such as ""Leine Runter"" (2010), ""Slumdog Millionaire"" (2012), and ""Yalancı"" (2014). He has collaborated with several renowned artists such as Azad and Xatar. In 2019, he released his sixth studio album ""Blanco"".

Achievements

Kurdo's albums have consistently charted in the top 10 of the German Albums Chart. His single ""Nike Kappe umgekehrt"" was certified gold by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI). He has received several awards for his music such as the Echo Music Award for Best Hip Hop/Urban Artist in 2014.

Personal Life

Kurdo married his long-time girlfriend in 2016. The couple has two children together. He currently resides in Berlin with his family.
