The Early Life of Kwesta
Kwesta was born Kiernan Jarryd Forbes in Katlehong, South Africa in 1988. His love for music started at a young age and he began writing rhymes as early as 12 years old. He went on to study Sound Engineering and pursue music full-time. After releasing his first mixtape in 2009, Kwesta quickly found success in the South African hip-hop scene.
Rise to Fame
In 2011, Kwesta released his debut album Special Rekwest. He followed this up with his second album DaKAR II in 2014. Kwesta further cemented his place as one of South Africa’s top hip-hop artists with the release of his third album DaKAR III, which was certified 8x platinum in the country.
