Who is Leo Ku?
Leo Ku (born Ku Kui Kei) is a Chinese singer, actor, host and media personality from Hong Kong. He is one of the most iconic stars in Asia. He started his career as a singer in the late 1980s, releasing his debut album in 1989. In the 1990s, he became a sensation and a household name in the region for his work on the hit Cantopop albums.
Early Life
Leo Ku was born on December 29, 1975 in Hong Kong. He attended Hong Kong Baptist University where he studied psychology. After graduation, he was accepted into the Hong Kong Institute of Music where he began his musical career.
Music Career
In 1989, Leo released his debut studio album, named “The End of The Century”. The album received critical acclaim and topped the charts in Hong Kong. This success propelled him to stardom and he became one of the biggest names in Cantopop. He then released several successful albums throughout the 90s, most notably “Love Is Not All Around” in 1994 which sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
Acting Career
In 1997 Leo transitioned from music to acting and had his first film role in “My Name Is Nobody”. He went on to appear in many successful films throughout his career including “Confession of Pain” (2006), “Treasure Inn” (2011) and “The Great Magician” (2012). He also had roles in television shows such as “The Greed of Man” (1992) and “A Standout Performance” (1995).

Leo is married to former television hostess Sharon Kwok since 2011. They have two children together. Leo is actively involved in charity work and has worked with various organizations such as UNICEF and Red Cross. In 2014 he was appointed as an ambassador for World Vision Hong Kong. Leo currently resides in Hong Kong.
