Early Life & Career Beginnings

Margarita was born in Seville, Spain in the year 1983. She began her musical journey at a young age, playing violin and guitar in her father’s band. Inspired by traditional Latin sounds, she soon developed an interest in cumbia and reggae. In 2004, she released her debut single ‘Amor de Verano’ which was an instant success. She followed up with an EP of the same name in 2005 and embarked on an ambitious tour across Spain. She continued to release singles throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s, including ‘Noches de Verano’ (2007), ‘Somos Iguales’ (2008), ‘No Te Quiero Olvidar’ (2009), and ‘Enamorada’ (2013).

Collaborations & Recent Projects

In 2016, Margarita released the single ‘Una Copa Más’ featuring Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes. The song was an instant hit and went on to become one of the most popular songs of the year. In 2018, she released her fourth studio album ‘Tú y Yo’ which featured collaborations with Pablo López, Morat, and Sebastián Yatra. The album was a critical and commercial success, peaking at number two on the Spanish Albums Chart. She is currently working on her fifth studio album which is expected to be released later this year.
