Early Life

Sardou was born on January 26, 1947 in Paris to Fernande Rossi and Jack Sardou. His father was a theater actor and he was introduced to the theater from a young age. He began writing songs in the 1960s, and recorded his first album in 1968. He released several albums throughout the 1970s, but it wasn't until 1974 that he achieved mainstream success with the single ""La Maladie d'Amour"".

Career Success

Sardou's career took off in the late 1970s, with several hit singles like ""Les Lacs du Connemara"" (1977) and ""Les Ricains"" (1979). He released his most successful album, ""Vladimir Ilitch"", in 1981, which sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
