Who is Milet?

Milet (born Miro Kamishiraishi) is a 21-year-old Japanese pop artist. Born on November 24, 1998, in Tokyo, she first rose to fame through her collaboration with Kenshi Yonezu and Hiroyuki Sawano. Since then, she has released several singles and albums that have charted on the Oricon and Billboard charts. Her music combines elements of pop, R&B, hip hop, and rock to create a unique sound. In 2017, Milet won the award for Best New Artist at the Tokyo Music Awards.

Music Career

Milet made her debut in 2016 with the single ""Story"", which was featured on the soundtrack of the anime series Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World. That same year, she collaborated with Kenshi Yonezu for his single ""Peace Sign"" which peaked at number two on the Oricon Singles Chart. In 2017, she released her debut extended play (EP), Smile, which peaked at number five on the Oricon Albums Chart. The EP featured collaborations with Hiroyuki Sawano and Akito Matsuda. In 2018, Milet released her second EP It's Me which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart. The EP featured collaborations with many artists including Akito Matsuda, Shunori Kouyama, and KEN THE 390.

Awards & Accomplishments

In 2017, Milet won the award for Best New Artist at the Tokyo Music Awards. She has also been nominated for several awards including Best Pop Artist at the Japan Record Awards in 2017 and Best Female Artist at MTV Video Music Awards Japan in 2018.
