What is MISSIO?

MISSIO is an alternative electronic music duo based in Austin, TX and composed of frontman Matthew Brue and producer David Butler. Their sound combines elements of hip-hop, EDM, pop and rock to create anthems with powerful messages. Together they have toured with major acts including Twenty One Pilots and The 1975.

History

The duo first met in 2014 when Butler began producing some of Brue’s solo material. After finding success as a solo artist, Brue decided to go the duo route with his collaborator and released their first single in 2016 titled “Middle Fingers”. The single gained traction on Spotify and Apple Music and caught the attention of labels. In 2017 they released their debut album 'Loner' to critical acclaim. The album's singles “I Don't Even Care About You” and “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea” gained traction on streaming platforms as well as radio airplay.

Discography

MISSIO has released two studio albums, 'Loner' (2017) and 'The Darker The Weather // The Better The Man' (2019). The album's lead single “I Don't Even Care About You” was their biggest hit to date, peaking at #27 on the Billboard Alternative songs chart. Other notable singles from the album include “Middle Fingers”, “Bottom of the Deep Blue Sea” and “Everybody Gets High”. In 2020 they released several singles including “Can I Exist”, “I See You” and “Twisted”.

MISSIO has collaborated with several other artists throughout their career including Lights on the song “Freak Show” and K.Flay on the song “Bad Things”. They have also been featured on several remixes including a remix of Twenty One Pilots' single “Heathens”.
