Introduction

Early Life

Born in Lebanon in 1977, Alsalim's passion for music was evident from an early age. He started playing the guitar at the age of seven and by the time he was a teenager he had already started writing his own songs. He took his first steps into the music industry by joining a local band and performing with them around Lebanon.

In 1999, Alsalim released his debut album 'Oghneyat’ which quickly gained a following in Lebanon and the rest of the Arab world. The album was a mix of traditional Arabic melodies with modern beats. His second album 'Aalam', released in 2002, was even more successful than the first one and it solidified him as one of the most popular musicians in Lebanon. Over the years he has released several more albums including 'Al-Shooq', 'Habib El-Omr', 'El-Bareh', and 'Fannan'.

He has been awarded several times at the annual Music Festival of Carthage in Tunisia and in 2004 he received a prestigious award from the Palestinian Ministry of Culture for Best Arab Singer.
