Introduction

Primal Scream is an independent rock band formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1982. The group has experienced numerous lineup changes throughout its history and the current lineup includes Bobby Gillespie (vocals), Andrew Innes (guitar), Martin Duffy (keyboards) and Darrin Mooney (drums).

The Early Years

Primal Scream released their debut album Sonic Flower Groove in 1987. The album was a commercial success and gave the group their first taste of fame. They followed it up with the critically acclaimed 1989 album Primal Scream. The album featured some of their most popular songs such as ""Loaded"", ""Movin' On Up"" and ""Come Together"".

Mainstream Success

Primal Scream achieved mainstream success in 1994 with the release of their third studio album Give Out But Don't Give Up. The album spawned the hit single ""Rocks"", which became a top 10 hit in the UK. The group continued to find success in the next few years with albums such as Vanishing Point (1997) and XTRMNTR (2000).

Collaborations

Primal Scream have collaborated with a number of other artists throughout their career. These include My Bloody Valentine, The Chemical Brothers, Manic Street Preachers and Oasis. The group also released a covers album in 2004 titled Riot City Blues.
