Introduction

Quantic is the stage name of British music artist Will Holland. He is known for his wide range of genres, collaborations, and talent. Since his debut as Quantic in 2001, he has released nine solo albums and collaborated with a variety of other artists. His broad range of talents have earned him recognition from both fans and professionals around the world.

Early Life

Will Holland was born in 1979 in Worcestershire, England. As a young boy, he was obsessed with music. Before he was old enough to drive, he would take two trains to London every weekend to attend drum & bass and house parties. During this time he also developed a deep appreciation for jazz music and began learning to play the saxophone.

Career

After spending some time in England's underground music scene, Holland decided to pursue music production full-time. His first release as Quantic in 2001 was an EP called Apricot Morning. It gained him enough attention to secure a record deal with Tru Thoughts Records. Since then he has released nine solo albums under the Quantic moniker as well as several albums with various side projects including The Limp Twins and The Quantic Soul Orchestra.

Collaborations

Quantic has worked with a variety of different artists throughout his career. He has collaborated with Alice Russell on several projects including the album Look Around The Corner. He has also collaborated with U-Roy on the album Caliventura Remixes and with Nidia Góngora on their album Curao. He has also worked with Spanky Wilson on the album I'm Thankful.

Recognition

Quantic's work has been recognized around the world. His collaboration with Alice Russell won Best Album at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards in 2009 and his album The 5th Exotic was nominated for Best Urban Album at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2011. His work has also been featured in several films including Ingrid Goes West and Dope.
