Who is Rachelle Ann Go?

Rachelle Ann Go is a 35-year-old Filipino singer-songwriter. She rose to fame when she won the TV talent show Search for a Star in 1999. Since then, she has released several albums and singles, performed in musicals, and become one of the most successful singers in the Philippines.

Early Life & Career Beginnings

Rachelle was born on August 31, 1985 in Sampaloc, Manila to parents Aurora and Ramoncito Go. She has two siblings, Errol and Rinna. She started singing at a very young age and was soon discovered by her manager, Celeste Tuviera. In 1999, Rachelle competed in the TV talent show Search for a Star, where she sang covers of popular songs by artists such as Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Her powerful voice earned her first place in the competition and launched her career as a professional singer.

Rise to Fame & Later Career

In 2001, Rachelle released her self-titled debut album which included covers from songs from the 90s. It was well-received by critics and fans alike and featured on various music charts in the Philippines. The following year, she released her second album, Falling into You, which featured her own original compositions as well as covers of classic love songs. In 2003, Rachelle released her third album, Laughter All Around, which featured a mix of pop and R&B tracks. The album was a huge commercial success and earned her numerous awards including Best Female Pop Artist at the Aliw Awards.

Musical Theatre & Other Projects

In 2004, Rachelle made her debut on the stage in the musical production Rent. She went on to perform in other musicals such as Cinderella (2004), Miss Saigon (2006), Les Miserables (2007) and The Sound of Music (2008). In 2009, she starred in the movie I Love You Goodbye alongside Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado. Rachelle has also served as a judge on various reality singing competitions including The Voice Kids (2014) and Starstruck (2016).

Throughout her career, Rachelle has won numerous awards for her singing talent including Best Female Pop Artist at the Aliw Awards (2003) and Best Female Recording Artist at the Awit Awards (2004).
