Who is Reol?

Reol (real name: Rina Shibasaki) is a multi-talented Japanese singer and music producer. She started her career as a solo artist in 2015 with the release of her first EP, Gokusaishiki. Reol rose to fame for her unique blend of electro-pop, rock, and hip-hop. She is known for her powerful vocals and imaginative lyrics.

Music Career

In 2016, Reol released her first full-length album REOL. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number eight on the Oricon Weekly Chart. That same year, she released the single “Give Me a Break Stop Now” with Giga which reached number 8 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart. Reol has also collaborated with many other artists, including Okiku and Nippon Columbia. In 2017, she released her second studio album REOL +α. It peaked at number 4 on the Oricon Weekly Chart and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. In 2018, Reol released two singles “No title” and “KAGEROU”. Both songs were met with critical acclaim and topped the iTunes Charts in Japan.

Awards

Reol has been nominated for several awards including the MTV Video Music Awards Japan for Best Dance Video in 2016 and the Japan Record Awards for Best New Artist in 2017. In 2018, she won the Tokyo FM Award at the 27th Annual Tokyo FM Awards for Best Artist of the Year.
