Rico Nasty's career began in the early 2010s when she was just a teenager. At that time she started to share her music online and quickly gained attention for her unique style mixing hardcore rap with punk elements. Her first EP, Summer's Eve, was released in 2016. In 2018 she released her first studio album titled Nasty that was met with critical acclaim.
