Early Life of Scarface

Scarface was born Brad Terrence Jordan in Houston, Texas on November 9th, 1970. He was raised by his mother and grandmother in the South Acres neighborhood of Houston. His mother was a single parent who struggled to make ends meet for her family. Despite challenging circumstances growing up, Scarface developed a strong passion for music at an early age and often wrote rhymes in his spare time.

Career Beginnings

In 1986, Scarface joined the rap group Geto Boys with Willie D and Bushwick Bill. They released their debut album Grip It! On That Other Level in 1989 which featured the hit single “Gangsta of Love”. The album was a huge commercial success and quickly put the group on the map as one of the most promising rap acts of the time. In 1991, Scarface released his debut solo album Mr. Scarface Is Back which featured the hit single “A Minute to Pray and a Second to Die”.

Mainstream Success

In 1994, Scarface released his third solo album The Diary which became a massive success and earned him much critical acclaim. The album featured hit singles such as “My Block” and “I Seen a Man Die” which were both instant classics. The Diary is widely considered to be one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever made and cemented Scarface as one of the most influential rappers in history. Since then he has released numerous albums such as The Fix (2002) and Emeritus (2008).

Scarface is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time and has had a huge influence on the genre. He is known for his gritty lyrics about street life and his ability to tell vivid stories through his music. His influence can still be heard today in many up-and-coming rappers who have cited him as an inspiration.
